Luke Shaw in a very positive frame of mind, says Van Gaal

The Manchester United full-back has ‘amazed’ his
manager with his positive attitude at the outset of his
rehabilitation
Luke Shaw is remaining positive despite the horrific leg
break he suffered during a Champions League meeting
between Manchester United and PSV Eindhoven.
That is according to manager Louis van Gaal , who
had positive news for fans after speaking to the injured
England international on Thursday night.
Speaking to MUTV ahead of Saturday’s meeting with
league strugglers Sunderland
, the Dutchman gave the latest update on his 20-year-
old left-back.
Shaw suffered a double leg break following a
challenge by PSV’s Hector Moreno on a night to forget
for the Red Devils , with the Dutch champions going on
to win 2-1 and goalscorer Moreno being named Man
of the Match despite being responsible for Shaw’s
injury.
But Van Gaal had better news regarding Shaw on
Friday: “He was very positive which is amazing for me.
It’s a very good signal.
“We have started the rehabilitation. He shall be visited
at home firstly for electro muscle stimulants.”
The Dutchman also gave the latest injury update for
his side, telling MUTV that there are no new injuries
ahead of Sunderland’s visit on Saturday.
Apart from Shaw, the other absentees for United are
Marcos Rojo – who was drafted in for his first action
of the season following Shaw’s injury – and Paddy
McNair.
That leaves the Old Trafford outfit desperately short at
the back for this weekend’s game.
