SAKI OKEOGUN RESIDENTS RENEW CALLS TO REHABILITATE POLYTECHNIC TO IJALEODA MAIN ROAD .

After four and half years of complaints to the
Oyo State government over the horrible state
of the community road with no solution on
sight, residents of Saki Okeogun have again
reechoed calls for the rehabilitation of the
road ·
According to the residents, the affected road
also required functional drainage even as the
road will serve as major link to the ever-busy
Sango quarters bus-stop that usually
experience traffic sharis daily.
Worried by the several man-weekly lost on the
road, the residents have called on His
Excellency, Governor Abiola Ajimobi to come
to their aids, stating that something urgent
must be done as the raining season is also
fast approaching.
Some residents said ” A team from the
ministry of works and infrastructure was said
to have been dispatched to carry out an
assessment of the road ,the government
officials actually came,did some surveillance
of the road, started the clearing of the road
and promised to come back for proper
construction for over a year but nothing has
been done. Every effort by the community to
get them back to work has met brick-walls.
It is very regretting to note that the Saki
Okeogun road has suffered total neglect since
inception of the presence administration
despite our unrelenting efforts for recognition
to the past governments. Promises made by
the government to bring development and
dividend of democracy to our community have
remained unfulfilled”- Lamented residents.
The need for the rehabilitation of the road by
the government is not negotiable.
Consequently,we are again appealing to the
state government to urgently rehabilitate this
road which continues to get worse and
hazardous every seconds of the day.
While counting on our (AJIMOBI) cooperation,
it is our utmost sincere that you will give this
matter its urgent attention” .
We are also very sympathetic with the state
government following the embattled economic
downturns but it is our beliefs that
government is constructing roads in phases
with available resources.
No amount of money spent to construct the
road will be commensurated with the
maximum utility that will be obtained by the
masses.
Last line : As a patriotic child of the town, I
also want to join a million others towards the
urgent construction of the road as it is
causing more harm than good to the people.
Please,governor Abiola Ajimobi,make hay
while the sun shine.
